Technical Surveillance Counter Measures (TSCM) Sweeps

Lerner Consulting received a call for information on "bugs" or other types of listening devices.  After telling the client about all of the crazy tech that exists in 2024, they say: 

"I know I'm not the U.S. Embassy, and I don't have any famous recipes... I feel like I sound crazy, but I'd rather pay you guys to come check my home and give me peace of mind". 

Lerner Consulting arrived at their home the following day and located a microphone in the ceiling fan above their office desk, and a camera on their fireplace mantel. 

As it would turn out: Yes- they in fact were not a U.S. Embassy, and no, they did not possess any cool recipe or trade secrets; however, they were going through a nasty divorce. Turns out- their spouse was trying to gain additional information about the business that our client owned and operated prior to making their demands known in court.

One of the most common places we have found devices is on vehicles.  There are many reasons you may find a "tracker" on your vehicle.

• There is a lien on the vehicle or it is being financed (check your contracts).
• Someone has paid a Private Detective to Lawfully place a GPS Tracker on your vehicle.
• A new horrible trend: criminals have been placing tracking devices on vehicles to track their location.  When a homeowner is gone, they may break in to the home.  Alternatively, criminals may wait until your vehicle is parked somewhere and attempt to steal it.
• Criminals interested in kidnapping / trafficking an individual may place a GPS tracker on a potential victim's vehicle.
